Rock out with Drums! app

How cool is this? If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a rock star drummer, then check this out: Drums! by iFantastic offers a full drum set, right on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

It’s billed as the most realistic and intuitive drum app in the store, and it is. Not that this could replace a real drum kit, but this $0.99 app is probably as close as you can get on an iDevice.

For the money, you get three drum sets, each with a different vibe: Acoustic, Groove, and Standard, and four drum kit layouts. Although you can’t customize the kit, it’s integrated with your own playlists, so you can play along with your own songs.

Clearly, it’s intended more for fun than any serious kind of music production — especially since it doesn’t have multi-track recording — but for a diversion, it excels. Drums! is a total blast to play with, especially on the big screenyness of the iPad.
