Unlocked iPhone prices compared
The iPhone has now been launched in many countries around the world. In the United States, customers are locked to AT&T and their subsidy. However, in other countries consumers have the option of purchasing their new iPhone’s without a contract. Why? Purchasing unlocked handsets allows users to go from carrier to carrier without issue and yields better resale down the road.
Obviously, the price of unlocked handsets is much higher than subsidized models but many people hate the idea of being tied down to one carrier. iFun has broken down Apple’s unlocked iPhone pricing allowing us to easily identify the most economical countries. On the low end, Hong Kong sells the 16GB model for $653 while Italians are slammed by prices approaching $1000 per phone.
Is the iPhone 4 budget friendly in your country or will you sell your soul to a telecomm in order to afford the device?
